Bangor Chapter of the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools


The purpose of the Bangor Chapter of the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of Bangor Area High School.

Application Process

To be considered as a candidate for National Honor Society:

You must:
- have a cumulative GPA of 92.5% or higher at the end of your previous school year
- have dedicated participation in school activities, clubs, and organizations
- have dedicated participation in community activities, clubs, and organizations
- have evidence of leadership within school or community organizations
- have documented 50+ hours of community service

Steps to apply:

- Download the Application and fill it out entirely
-- Fill out all information on the form
-- If you need additional rows for a certain category, place cursor on the outside of the table after the last row and hit 'enter'
-- Download, print, and have the advisor of the club/organization fill out the Advisor Feedback Form and have them mail it to Mr. Weaver
-- Download, print, and have 4 teachers fill out the Character Reference Form and have them mail it to Mr. Weaver
-- Please type/write your school ID# on all forms, especially those you give to advisors and teachers to return. 
-- Download the Contract, fill it out, and ensure that it is signed
-- Place the signed Application and Contract in an envelope with your name on the outside
-- Deliver the envelope to Mr. Weaver by: January 27, 2017
